‚ÄčAustralian School Library Association (ASLA)

ASLA is the peak professional body providing leadership and support for school libraries. It actively promotes school librarianship in Australia. The website contains a good range of useful information, publication and policy templates.
Regular meetings on a school theme are held in different libraries. They are a great way to meet, share and gain ideas. All school library staff are welcome, ASLA membership is not necessary.

Northern Library Group

The Northern Library Group hold regular meeting focusing on topics of interest to school library staff. Their meetings provide a wonderful forum to meet and share ideas.

Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)

ALIA is the national professional organisation for employees in libraries and information services. ALIA Schools provides school-specific information.
ALIA events are a great way to meet, share and gain ideas. All school library staff are welcome, ALIA membership is not necessary.

Childrens Book Council of Australia (CBCA)

The CBCA is a national organisation which promotes literature for young Australians. It organises the annual Book Week celebration and Book of the Year awards. Reading Time Online includes reviews, interviews, booklists and articles focusing on the children's book world.
The CBCA Tasmanian Branch holds local events and has a Tasmanian based website and social media.

International Association of School Librarianship (IASL)

IASL provides an international forum for people interested in promoting effective school library programs.

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)

IFLA is an international body representing the interests of library and information services. It produces the IFLA School Library Guidelines (pdf).
