Library Lovers' Day – held every year on 14 February – is celebrated in libraries around the country. This year's theme is 'Make a date with your library' and, here at Libraries Tasmania, we're planning a full week buzzing with activities that show our (and your!) love of libraries, books and reading.
Your local library knows that the way to a book lover's heart is through books (not roses or chocolate!), and our staff are busy making sure that you will fall in love with your library all over again with the special activities and displays they have planned. Get in touch with your
local library to find out more and to participate in their Library Lovers' Day activities.
Why not get in the Valentine's Day spirit by exploring our
romance eBooks on Overdrive/Libby? "Romance" was the number one most-borrowed genre in our eBook category in 2020! Or how about visiting your local library and losing yourself in our
physical collection of romance titles?
To inspire you, the Top 10 most-borrowed romance titles from last year were:
-
The giver of stars by Jojo Moyes
-
Hideaway by Nora Roberts
-
Making peace by Fiona McCallum
-
Still me by Jojo Moyes
-
Someone like you by Karly Lane
-
The secret vineyard by Loretta Hill
-
Matters of the heart by Fiona Palmer
-
The boundary fence by Alissa Callen
-
A daughter's journey by Anna Jacobs
-
Star crossed by Minnie Darke
And don't forget to explore our staff-curated lists of
heart-warming romantic movies on Beamafilm that you can stream for FREE.
This Library Lovers' Day, make sure you make time to 'make a date with your library'!
