We have 23 Literacy Coordinators located around the state whose role is to provide literacy support for young people and adults.
Literacy Coordinators support and manage trained volunteer literacy tutors who work with learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. This service is free and can help with:
- reading
- writing
- oral communication
- learning
- numeracy
and includes support for:
- getting a driver's licence
- improving literacy skills for work
- applying for a job
- taking a course
Some of these activities and programs include:
- English conversation classes
- Basic computing courses
- First Gear learner licence help
- Literacy skills development courses, such as Garden to Plate and Skills for Life, Skills for Work
