Delve into Ann’s diaries

Are you interested in what women’s lives were like two hundred years ago?

The first Friends of the Allport (FOTA) event this year, Kate Vermey: The Jane Austen-esque diaries of Mary Morton Allport’s Mother, is on at the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts, Tuesday 21 March from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Join Kate Vermey (Libraries Tasmania) as she takes a journey through the family life of Ann Frances Chapman (nee Evett), mother of Mary Morton Allport, and the daily struggles, joys and losses of the 1830s.

The in-person event is booked out – register for the webinar instead.
Keep an eye out for future events on the State Library, Tasmanian Archives and Allport Museum Eventbrite page.
